Rocking Pigeon Stretch
One of my favorite stretches that I can’t really do right now!! The rocking pigeon stretch is a yoga-inspired stretch that targets the hips and glutes.
A lot of people struggle with hip and glute pain, but a few rocks a day keeps the pain away
Muscles Used:
The primary muscles targeted during this stretch are the hips, glutes and lower back. It also helps to stretch the groin and inner thigh muscles.
Why it's important:
- Relieves hip tension: less hip tension = less stress on lower back, hips, and knees.
- Improves flexibility: This stretch helps to increase flexibility and mobility in the hips, which can be beneficial for daily activities and athletic performance.
- Reduces stress and anxiety: stretching of all kinds reduces stress and anxiety
How To:
- Sit on your butt with your legs out and your knees up.
- Sit up straight supported by your arms (no arms if you can)
- Rock to your left and try to get your left knee on the ground followed by the inside of the right knee!
- Rock to the right and do the same thing
Rocking Pidgeon- (I hope this video explains it better than I can!)
